Our Pastor -
from the prospective of a saint!
Have you ever had a landmark in your life, that no matter where you are, you are confident if you look hard enough you will see that landmark standing tall.

I have one…my pastor, Rev. W. W. Gilmore.

I have been a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Gastonia since I was 2 years old.  Bro. Gilmore has been my Shepard since then.  He was there for all the phone calls I would get my mom to make when as a child I was sick, and he would pray.  As a youth, my pastor was always praying for me.  He baptized me in Jesus name and prayed with me to receive the Holy Ghost.  He encouraged my confidence in the Lord by pushing me to become a Sunday School teacher at the age of 15.

When I came to him wanting him to marry my husband and I, he did some major checking up on my intended before he would let “one of his kids” get married to someone he didn’t know.  But Phillip gained the trust of my pastor by living for God and being good to me.  So, when the time came for me to be married, Bro. Gilmore started us off on the road of our life together.

Anytime that I ever had to have any type of surgery, my pastor was always waiting on me at the hospital, before the operation to pray.

My landmark was there to celebrate the birth of both of my children.  He and Sis. Gilmore were and will always be “Honorary Grandparents”.

When I was diagnosed with cancer, my pastor prayed for me.  After God’s healing, he worshipped with me.

There is a song that says… ”When I look back over my life and I think things over, I can truly say that I’ve been blessed…”  One of the greatest blessings in my life has been my landmark, Bro. Gilmore.
