Worship is the heart of God.
The Bible says that David was a man after God’s own heart. No matter where he was, David was always ready and willing to offer praises to God. He was not afraid to remove his royal garments when in the presence of the Arc of the Covenant, for in the old testament, that was where the Spirit of God was. Even though he was King, He was not afraid to dance and magnify the Lord.
At the First Pentecostal Church in Gastonia, we believe in praising and worshipping God with all our heart, mind and strength. He is worthy of all the honor we can give and then some!
The Bible makes many references to praise and worship throughout the old and new testaments. It speaks of singing a new song, so we try to always keep our praise songs fresh, bringing in new writings as well as keeping many awesome hymns in our mix. The Bible also speaks of making a joyful noise, so we encourage everyone to join in and praise the Lord with us. In with making a joyful noise, we believe in exalting God by raising and clapping our hands. He gave us our voices and hands to be lifted up to magnify Him and give Him glory.
It has been my great pleasure to lead the worship services in this church since 1999. My prayer is that I will always be sensitive to the moving of the Spirit that I may allow God to lead me as I lead the worship here at FPC Gastonia.
